I'm really glad I pushed through my initial frustration with this book, and ignored other peoples' reviews. I ended up relating to this main character in the most unexpected ways and really enjoyed the strange and bizarre storyline. I didn't really "get it" at first and wondered if this was weird and off-putting just for the shock factor until I started to realize my own weirdness in it all and "got it". Obviously this book is not for everyone but I think it's one of those stories that your own experience of it determines the outcome.
