I really really OBSESSED over this one coming out. I’m not even ashamed to say it. I HAD to know who, why, & how. Talk about a shock when we get those answers! I LOVE Mason & Pixie! F*fking SWOON! Them as a family? SWOONx2! Have ALLLLLL the babies! I need a bonus please and thank you. Just their little family and more of their happy moments down the road.

The grovel from Pix? Very well done. It was different than what I normally read. Almost all the grovels I tend to read are from the H.

The only thing I wish I would’ve got more from is her family storyline. Hopefully we get a future book that follows that, but I do want to see that relationship play out more.

I LOVE IT!

A perfect mix of smut, love, romance, sweet moments, hot moments, not a slow burner and not to fast either- well sometimes but its okay. The perfect amount of drama, problems, lies and truths.
Mason has my heart for sure. what a man. He aint perfect but he loves so hard!
And what a friend group- so much love between them all and so much sexual desire.
Cant wait to read Lucy and Elliots story and Scarlet and Lances! And i hope Megan and Charlie gets a story too!

The throwback to Ellis' birth was the reason i started this duet and i wasnt disapointed.

We all complain about instalove in romance novels...but when a book comes achingly close to how real life would play out, in every devastating detail, are we really ready for it?

part two of the promise duet!

now this one was one for the books. this book comes back nina and mason have their sweet baby. a lot has happened since the birth and mason and nina are not really on speaking terms. it broke my heart to see them not speaking to each other, and when they did there was so much tension and hurt that was between them. it's one thing that really hurt my heart when reading this book. this is one of the most angsty books that ive ever read. i have such a love/hate relationship with this one. it took me a while to recover from this. i just wanted them to be together, but i also wanted them both to grow from all of this. there has been major heartbreak on both ends and its not something that you can just have a changed perspective from the next day. i will say that i did love seeing mason's more intentional caring side more in this book verses the last book i really had a harder time with him and his actions. this one you could see how badly he just wanted his family together and he wanted things to be easier for nina. i loved the little things/moments that he had with ellis. like all the heart eyes cute. in the end i am so happy with how things ended. i may still be emotionally impacted, but i am thankful for they got their HEA. i cannot wait to see more of them in the rest of The Grand Men series!

Liked this book better than the first. It was more of a slow burn and getting to see the characters struggle to find their way was intriguing. Love the cast of characters and the authors writing.

The love story between Nina and Mason was good. The couple are apart for 3/4 of the book. There’s so many side stories that are unnecessary and have very little development and resolution...ieJoey, Jasmine,Lance, the h’s Mom, the h’s dad etc. just too much. It reminded me of LOST the tv series that went all over the place and then failed to stick the ending, so at the end of the story you have a dazed expression asking why the heck did the author even go there. I did a lot of speed reading and skimming in this book which is always a Bad sign. I believe this duet would have profited if the author could have condensed her thoughts and ideas and focused in on the MC’s. Instead it was a bit of a flight of ideas. Most of the time, less is more. I like to read romance that is more focused. Like TL Swann… someone reviewed that this was similar to one of her books The Stopover, but no it wasn’t focused enough on the MC’s to compare. The writing was good, the love story was good, all the rest was just page filler.

P.S. also wasn’t a fan of the way the hero’s sexcapades aka cheating after the break up was supposed to be okay because it wasn’t missionary.Meanwhile the h never cheated….

I honestly can't get over how bad these two were. TikTok keeps doing me dirty. But I also couldn't not finish it so...
