Night Whispers was a decent book in the Omen of the Stars arc, and it’s more unique than the others because Flametail has some of his own chapters. I only really have a few things to say about it but one thing that’s always been not the best in Warriors are the romantic relationships. Lionblaze and Cinderheart’s whole “will they or won’t they” thing is kind of boring— especially since Lionblaze himself is already kind of boring (hollycinder better!!!). Another poorly-written relationship is between Dovepaw and Tigerheart. These two just lack any chemistry, and also Tigerheart just kind of sucks in general. Something I did like about Dovepaw was that the way Ivypaw and her interacted felt very realistic and I like that they act childish (because they are children). Flametail’s chapters in this were interesting as we’ve never had a Shadowclan perspective in the main series books (as far as I’ve read) and
his death and everything about it was crazy. The way they use him acting like a warrior as foreshadowing, all of his visions about his death (why did Starclan even show him this btw??) and Jayfeather getting wrapped up in it made me lose my mind omg.
Overall, not terrible, but could have been better.

I think that this is my favourite arc so far. I loved first three books and I hope that I love the last three this much too.

I loved all the protagonists, Flametail's death was sad and it actually made me feel sad for a change and I loved the pacing of this book. I loved that there is a lot of talking but a lot of action too - it's not like those later books where there are entire chapters of cats just standing around and talking.

I also love that we finally get the change of a relationship between Ivypaw and Dovepaw. Dovepaw finally tells her sister about the prophecy and her powers and they are finally friends again and it's really refreshing to see siblings stay friends into the apprenticeship and doing things together for a change. I just wish that they stayed this great of friends when they are adults but oh well.

Overall a pretty good book, I loved the changes of POV and going between Dark Forest when we are with Ivypaw, ThunderClan when we are with Dovepaw and ShadowClan when we are with Flametail, I just wish that we had Flametail as a pov in the first two books too because it would be interesting to follow him around a little bit longer and his death would have been a little bit sadder that way too. Overall, a pretty decent book and I cannot wait to see where the story goes from here.
