Flametail.

That's it. That's my entire review.

No, but seriously, Flametail was fantastic in this book. I loved getting a point-of-view from a cat from a different Clan. It was especially fun, because this book is about the Clans being divided and forced to work separately. Yet the other Clans have such a big presence in this book, really driving home the uncertainty of whether or not it's reasonable for the characters to remain divided.

I also liked the dynamic between Dovepaw and Ivypaw. This book, more than any other in this series, does a good job of establishing their dynamic, where it's clear that they care about each other even as they are driven to acts of malice through jealousy and frustration. I'm really vibing with Dovepaw's romance with Tigerheart, more so than the dynamic between Lionblaze and Cinderheart. The scenes where they sneak out on date nights are very sweet, and I am rooting for them when all is said and done. (I may have looked on the Warriors wiki to confirm that they end up together, but the joy is still in the journey more so than the destination!)

Overall, I tore through this book way too fast, and now I am impatient to continue with the series. I like how everything is building up to a final battle between StarClan and the Dark Forest. It feels a lot more prepared and consciously constructed than the plot in the first series, where the final villain isn't foreshadowed a lot (if at all) before his dramatic appearance in the last book. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens to the characters I love!

no one is more annoying than ivypaw in this book idc what anyone says

When I first started reading this series when I was a child I fell in love with it. The writing was great, as well as the characters. Well after the first 6, the next couple series didn't do as well for me but I continued to read them in hopes that they would get better as well as just wanting to finish of the series.

This book rather disappointed me, not much happened. I felt as though a lot kept getting repeated, we learned why each clan supposedly can't trust each other and must work "alone" to stop this huge battle that was coming. We also ventured more into the minds of Ivypaw and Flametail (from Shadowclan), which I thought was nice but not really my thing. The book moved very slow. I will be continuing to find out what happens next, hopefully the next is better, and hopefully the series ends completely soon. Even though I love it, I feel that it has run its course.

It feels like the Erins were really struggling to hold it together with this one - the first two thirds felt like a panic to bridge the gap between two major story arcs, and it only really got going nearing page 200 or so. Before that it was much of the same thing with hints at mystery and danger, however once it did take off, it took OFF! the last third was fast paced and full of vital development and set up for the stakes of the second half of the sub-series, with some decent surprises. When it's all rounded up though, there are things I just dont understand

Spoilers but I was honestly surprised at the first ever inclusion of multi-clan point of view. It never really seemed to fit having this mini Flametail arc - surely using Dovepaws powers to see what was happening in shadow clan would have made more sense? And now hes just dead lol like what was this for,,, erins really struggled to fill this book

The only purpose of having Dovepaw and Tigerheart in a relationship was for the herb issue, forbidden romance is OLD and BORING. Let's have some forbidden friendships instead !!!! That's far more high stakes. Forbidden friendships have much more of a future.

But what forced me to drop the rating was that Graystripe has been completely disregarded as his own character. He left his CLAN for his firstborns, but when Briarlight is permanently crippled he's barely there ???? Millie is fighting for her alone??? What happened to the charismatic, loyal family man we knew and loved from earlier series? I get that he's to be treated as a background character now, but he barely has anymore presence than like,,, foxleap or mousewhisker. Hes fodder for bulking up patrols and I dont like it.

I hope that the enjoyment I got out of the last third of this book continues into the rest of the series.

It was nice to have a new angle of POV in this book; that was fun and refreshing in such a long series. It was a slow start, but once the going started, it was really good.
