There is no other way to describe this book than supremely fucked up. I got the twists juuuust prior to their reveals, but they were still gasp-inducing. I admit to skimming some pages, it was easy to tell what was likely inconsequential. Overall, worth reading, I hardly think anyone would call it enjoyable.

Even though it ended up being a bit predictable, I still thought this was a solid 4 star thriller until the end. Something happens at the end that requires either a bit more information/exposition to make sense or more suspension of disbelief than I wanted to give it. That dropped it down a half star for me. It was, however, overall a decent thriller and I would recommend it.

I really loved all the other books I’ve read so far by this author but this was painful. Plot was just nonsensical and contrived. Kept waiting for it to get better, but was sorely disappointed.

I understand that we are meant to suspend disbelief to some extent when reading, but this was a bit of a stretch. There were some plot holes without a doubt.
Female characters written by men almost never feel right to me and this was no exception. I also hate the “redemption” of the villain at the very end.
With all this said, I finished it and it wasn’t a chore.
