Nice combination of dealing with both his son’s life-ending cancer and the foreign policy duties of a leading world figure. Appeals to your heart just as it informs you on his life and what he accomplished with other world leaders.

I received this book for free from the publisher. I am so glad I did. It’s a remarkable story. As I read it, I could hear VP Biden’s voice. It was like he was reading it to me. I laughed, I cried. Everyone should read this story of an inspiring man and true patriot.

I read this awhile ago. I remember it being a little repetitive, but I do love memoirs.

Very American (everyone Joe describes is amazing), but also gives some insight into his work as VP. It seems Obama gave Biden tasks that he was just in charge of (Iraq, the stimulus package). I'm not sure how true it is that Biden really was in charge, but if he was, I wonder whether he'll do the same with Harris?

A heart-wrenching story that was beautifully written. I could almost hear Joe telling it to me as I read. I never cry at books, and I was in tears multiple times while reading this. Absolutely incredible. You can tell he’s a good man who loves his country and family - the emotion is palpable through the pages. I have the utmost respect for Joe Biden.

Heartbreaking and honest and beautiful.

I cried

I enjoyed reading this book but it was very...campaign-y? I guess I shouldn't be surprised that a politician who has been in public service for over 40 years has written a book about politics and highlighting his merits and achievements. Don't get me wrong - I am a big Biden fan, and I definitely liked this book, but would have preferred if it perhaps included more of Beau/the personal and less about how viable a 2016 (and presumably 2020?) candidate he was.
