Just like the last book, I loved it and it was super entertaining but the “who done it” was painfully obvious. Still good enough to read the next one. The only other thing is that the author showed her age. No one in Gen z says “we’re generation z” nor are they likely to remember the Boston marathon bombing that happened when many of them were still toddlers.

these books are becoming a tv show so we out here!
------------------------
before anyone asks, yes I didn't read the first book because I was already spoiled on the twist, so I wasn't interested in it. a review will be coming.//
i spent thirty minutes reviewing my notes on this book, hoping i would remember something about it, and this book is so forgettable it isn't funny. so, basically to summarize, some anonymous source inspired by simon sets up truth or dare and tries to get students to participate. phoebe was the first one, and she didn't respond, and she had her truth come out of sleeping with her sister's ex-bf. her sister, emma, wasn't close to her at all, so it was a whole mess. phoebe had a thing with brandon until he was rude to her and started slut-shaming her which wasn't cool at all. i think the thing that karen m. mcmanus does well is she has an engaging writing style, so expect to have fun while reading.
the next characters to focus on was maeve and knox who used to date, (mess i know), and maeve is a cancer survivor. so maeve gets "dared" and she doesn't respond, so it is revealed that she couldn't get it on with knox which was embarrassing for him. maeve begins having a thing with this guy named Luis, who is a sweetheart. the book progresses with brandon dying doing his dare, and it's a whole mess. he fell through the roof, and knox was knocked out. we find out that brandon messed with a forklift at 13 that killed phoebe's father. this accuses phoebe of being the killer.
ending. basically it was a guy named jared and emma who made the account to get revenge, as emma found out about phoebe sleeping with her ex-bf and jared because of Eli, and he tries to bomb ashton and eli's wedding. maeve and knox save the day. anyway, the detective questions phoebe because emma chatted on the server as phoebe and when really emma did everything. she gets a lawyer and all that, and we realized she tried to stop what was going on. she wasn't quick enough. jared did the damage, and, then, we learn that after the game launched, she stopped talking to jared. however, we learn that someone chatted with jared after emma said she stopped chatting. we learn that owen, phoebe and emma's younger brother, chatted up until brandon's death. the two sisters learn that based of the misspelling of bizarre and decide to protect their brother. with the lawyer, they say that jared chatted to himself. the wedding was cute with maeve and Luis dancing, and maybe a romance between knox and phoebe.
overall, this book is kind of boring and wasn't the exciting thriller i wanted.
