3.5, rounded down. Loved it. Great plot—probably closer to a 4 than a 3–but the story was rushed and felt like there was a missing piece (pardon the pun), so I couldn’t fairly round up. An extra 50 pages or so to flesh out the characters could have easily made this a 4. Disclaimer that this reads very YA, due to the age of the characters—so if that’s not your thing, you might choose to skip this one.
