Never ignore red flags. Trust your gut, trust yourself, even when you can’t trust your memory.
Jaicey is a closed-off high school senior. She feels off, and she’s isolated and friendless. There are no mirrors in her home, and her parents treat her delicately. The problem is, she doesn’t know why. She even forgets that she’s forgotten.
A new boy shows up at her school and immediately zeros in on her, ever-determined to push past all her boundaries and protestations. She resists, and resists, until finally she doesn’t.
As the story progresses, Jaicey’s unease grows, but flashes of memories and strange dreams and overheard conversations leave her tiptoeing around the truth. That is, until something quite suddenly happens.
This was a fraught, suspense-filled, moving story, with lots of unexpected twists and more depth than I’d expected.
Tara Sands expertly narrates the audiobook.
Thank you Kiersten Modglin, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for providing this ALC for review consideration. All opinions expressed are my own.

Even though the story seemed rushed, the idea was fantastic, and the ending was action packed full of suspense.

I have been on a Kiersten Modglin kick lately. I either love her books, or think they're ok. I actually loved this one. I was slightly confused in the beginning until I realized that we wouldn't find out until later what the missing piece was. And when I found out...WHOA! I enjoyed the background into the characters and getting to know them. I was wrong on who did what, but I had the overall theme of the trauma correct.
I really enjoyed the ending! I love when my thrillers are wrapped up with no questions left at the end. This ending pulled on my heartstrings and made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
