The Wee Free Men

Terry Pratchett

Very funny, I love the various faerie folk, and the Nac Mac Feegle in particular, that Tiffany encounters, but I can't say I'm particularly fond of Tiffany herself. I don't know what it is, but Terry Pratchett has a number of female protagonists that I just can't relate to. Characters that never seem to experience sadness, or fear, or regret or indecision aren't particularly interesting to me.

If only I had a better Scottish accent! Tiffany is lovely. And the wee free men make me laugh. And the drawings were fabulous.

If I ever have a Scottish friend, relative or acquaintance that need some kid gift, they are totally getting this!

Listened to the audio. Brilliant. Everything I expected and more.

Tiffany! Love the new character. Nanny Ogg and Granny Weatherwax make a cameo. This was a good read. The Feegles are great!!!

First read: June 5, 2011. 3 stars.

Reread: June 1, 2014. 4 stars. Don't know why I enjoyed it so much more this time, but I really did. Maybe it was just exactly what I wanted...

A fun read but definitely a young adult fiction or even middle school? Funny characters, funny dialogue and a few moments where you think ‘oh no! Not that!’ The end was a bit less satisfying then I would’ve liked but the conclusion was there. Will read the next one for sure.
