This one really surprised me. The genre that is disparagingly referred to as 'chick lit' or more politely as 'women's contemporary' is not normally something I gravitate towards. The characters tend to be older than me, a bit annoying and difficult to relate to.

However, this book was absolutely charming. Yes, it was a bit fluffy but it had a really important underlying message, sweet characters and it made me laugh out loud on multiple occasions.

I have two minor criticisms. Firstly, took me quite a while to warm to the protagonist (although I feel this is intentional). Secondly, I love Ireland so would have liked the setting to have been a bit more present in the story. For the majority of the book, it felt like it could have been set in any major city.

Overall this was a nice break from all the pretentious books I seem to have been picking up lately. No pretention just a, slightly tongue in cheek, heartwarming story.

Never have I analysed my own life so much than when I was reading this book!
This book is just one big abstract metaphor for looking after you life and I loved it!
It was heart-warming and funny in all the right places and beautifully written.

The only reason it didn't get 5*s is because it didn't WOW me, I would have liked a little more mystery and a tiny bit more comedy.

But that's me, I'm fussy! Absolutely loved Cosmo, he had my exact sense of humour and sarcasm, I wish I could be friends with him!

Cecelia Ahern is probably one of my favourite authors. She write interesting and easy to read books. I always end up caught up in the book and finish it in a few days! This one was no different. It's a bit of an odd story (meeting your life!) but pretty good nonetheless. I could see a lot of people in Lucy and I absolutely loved Life! So yes happy reading on a relaxing vacation! Lots of giggles with it too, so if you're on a plane whilst reading this, like I was at one point, prepare to laugh out loud and get funny looks from your fellow passengers!
