A fun, nature-loving book that I thoroughly enjoyed.

This is a great middle grade read with an even better message. Teaching the lesson that no matter how old you are, you can make a difference in this world, Hiaasen has created characters that are believable and fun. I read this with a class of sixth graders and they loved it too.

I love the environmental and bird theme, but I feel that if I had read this as a kid, I would have gotten bored with all of the narrative surrounding the adults.

Rereading books from childhood about nature and animals is so healing luv you Carl Hiassen

Cute YA novel.

I just didn’t engage with this book. No particular reason.

A great family-friendly read that made for an enjoyable audiobook. It attempts to tackle the complex nature of its problems (bullying, environmentalism, domestic abuse) but fails to follow through, wrapping things up in a tidy bow at the end. That said, it's really the kind of book that everyone can find a little time to read and is a go-to choice for a family car ride recommendation. Good characters, good writing, realistic and clever hijinks. A 2017/2018 OBOB read.

This has been my very favorite book, ever since eighth grade. I have read it countless times and will many more times.

Cute story, quick read. Kids working together in unlikely ways to save small owls from a development project that would destroy their nests. I particularly enjoyed it because both my kids read it previously for school, liked it, and recommended it.

This was book was just okay. I'd probably say that it's about 2.5 stars for me.
