Fable follows a young girl named Fable who is the disowned daughter of one of the most feared sea bearing traders. It follows her adventures finding her father and a place to call home.
I found the beginning of the book to be hard to get through and it wasn't until Fable changed locations in the book that I actually started caring about her. I felt like the romance kind of came out of nowhere. At no point was I like "Oh they are digging each other" before they made a move, but I understand that is part of the culture of the book.
One of the things this book did really well was atmosphere. I could picture the trading towns and the traders clearly and could feel the magic of the ocean when she was dredging. The plot itself is solid, but I felt like the "twist" at the end kind of came out of nowhere. I did enjoy the book and will continue, but I will be getting further copies from the library.

♡NO SPOILERS♡
-I started this book back in 2021. But stopped at about 44% not because I didn’t like it. But due to my reading mood. I decided to read it after I finished Daughter Of The Pírate King. And I am so happy I did. I enjoyed the story so much! The characters, the plot! I feel like I’m on the adventure with Fable and the crew. I can not wait to continue the story and see how it ends.
-Great character relationships, tension, slow burn.
