Am a fan. I really really liked the world and setting of this book! I needed some solid pirate/ship fantasy in my life.
It’s official: I’m obsessed with Adrienne Young and I need to read all her books asap

A delightful young adult novel about adventure, love and pirates. I felt like it could have used a glossary in the front with boat/ship/ocean terms for this girl who was raised in land-locked Kansas, but I think I caught on pretty well.
The cast of colorful characters was fantastic, and I can't wait to catch up with them all in the sequel. I suspected a cliff hanger ending, but it still surprised me.

The story follows a girl who, in a sense, is a type of pirate. (At least thats how I thought of her). She was abandoned by her father on one of the most dangerous islands and told to fend for herself.
Four years later and she is finally to the point where she can get herself off, but something happens and she has to change her plans.
We follow Fable as she tries to find her father and ask him why he would abandon his child. Along the way is danger, adventure, and wonder as well.
My favorite character is probably Willa. She's a member of the crew where Fable ends up speaking passage, and she's just so strong and independent. I also loved Fable, but Willa just stole that favorite slot for me. She crews with an all male group and knew of them ever try her up. She just made it clear she isn't to be messed with.
Anybody who likes to read about daring adventures on the dangerous seas would love this book! It's definitely a fantasy novel, but it almost has some real world feels to it as well. If you loved Adrienne Young's Sky in the Deep Series, then you will love this as well!!
