A pirate fantasy? Sign me up!

Fable is the daughter of a Pirate Lord who dropped her on an island of thieves after her mother died in a shipwreck. When he left her there, he told her to survive and get herself off the island and only then can she claim her inheritance- a place in his crew. So for four years, that's what Fable does. However, when she manages to leave, she's thrown into the politics of piracy and the consequences of her father's growing trading empire.

The plot was really intriguing and Fable, our MC, made it even better. Fable does what she can to survive. She's self-reliant, quick and cunning. I was left waiting to find out what trouble she'd find herself in next.

Where this book falls short is the repitiveness of Fable's upbringing and her world, along with the fact that I'm left wondering where the meatier part of the plot is. Because this is just the first book, I'll give it some leeway.

Action-packed and suspenseful, I'm very interested in reading what comes next.

Loved the small glimpse back into those world and characters!

This was a fun book set mostly on the sea. I really liked Fable. She was strong and yet also very vulnerable, which made her relatable. I liked the entire crew, actually, especially Willa. I'm looking forward to the sequel!

I actually really enjoyed this book. I love the setting of it, and the writing is beautiful. The premise of the book isn’t overly exciting but yet I kept reading because I still needed to know how it ended. I wish there was more character development but most of that is due to the fact that everyone has to keep their whole life story a secret in the name of safety but I won’t lie, it did get frustrating. Overall I really enjoyed this book!
