Decent books to read; in the middle, I struggled because I was bored and impatient. Though the character was growing inability, it didn't change his circumstance enough to move the plot. The beginning and ending was the only time I felt as if he was making some real progress. But I plan to read the second book cause I am interested in seeing the main character's next move.
Side note- I enjoyed how the information was given was easy to understand and not indulged in too much, making it an info dump

One of the best books I've ever read. Would recommend it to anyone.
6/5 stars.

A time loop, a student who has to use this extra time to improve rapidly in order to save his world, and an expansive magic system.
Zorian is attending his third year of education at Cyoria's magical academy when he is murdered. Zorian then wakes up again at the beginning of the month, just before leaving academy. Trapped in a time loop he clearly wasn’t supposed to be part of with no clear end or exit, Zorian needs to work out what is going on.
This was my brother’s pick and it felt very RPG to me. Due to the constant restarting, relationship development is less at the forefront and instead Zorian’s skilling up is his aim alongside trying to hide his time traveller ability and work out the true big bad.
Due to this, it felt repetitive and jarring.
I did like how certain characters we initially disliked or found annoying grew on us as different time loops introduced Zorian to them in different circumstances or with different goals in mind.
<b>First of all, everything matters. You are what you do, and if I were to start doing stupid things just because there is seemingly no consequence for them, those actions would eventually come to define me. There might be no right answer, but Zorian knew from experience that there was always a wrong answer.

I don’t think I will be continuing this series.
I should have dnf’ed at 80% but I kept going and found myself zoning out regularly. Also, I was curious to how it ended as I know this is set-up for a long series. Each book is 26 hours +!
The only interesting things about this book were Kael and the spiders and the spiders died
