I thought this book was incredibly well done. Hearing the description of Kristallnacht from a child's perspective is terrifying, numbing, and incredibly powerful. And hearing of the indoctrination of children in schools was equally as terrifying and powerful. Sarah is an amazingly real character showing both disgust at the Nazis and the society they were creating, while also viewing the individuals she interacted with as both responsible for the atrocities happening around them and while also being deeply human.

This is a really anticipated release for me! Not many YA books on WW2, and certainly not in a kinda “highschool/spy” setting. The premise sounds so interesting! Unfortunately, for me it fell a bit short. I wasn’t invested in the characters, I didn’t care for any of them. Horrible things happen, but it seems like it isn’t really processed, there were no emotions. I get that it’s a coping technique but as a reader somehow the horrible things are diminished because it’s rushed over. What I did like was the acting lessons Sarah kept going over. And I did keep reading on, hoping it would pick up in the end, but it didn’t really. I did enjoy it enough for 3 stars but my expectations were higher.

hay partes en el libro que capaz cuesta una bocha seguir, pero posta que esta bueno el libro amas a la protagonista desde el primer instante y eso es una de las cosas buenas tiene personajes muy interesantes y capaz no muy desarrollados pero tengo entendido que hay otro libro asi que veremos
le di tres estrellas especificamente por estas partes que me costaron leer y capaz si lo hubiese leido en español se me hubiese hecho mas llevadero e interesante pero bueno kel my guilty pleasure

Gosh, long and absorbing. But also violent as is the way with war.
