Picked this up on a whim since I'm not the biggest fan of Piers Morgan. I feel like people either hate or him or love him but I definitely respect him a lot more after reading about how strongly he advocated for frontline workers during COVID and urged the government to take more stringent actions long before they actually did. My favorite part was hearing how he offered to pay for hospital employees parking fees if the government refused to waive them during the pandemic (shockingly the government actually did capitulate in the end but it's sad that had to be a fight). He's also HUGELY anti-Megan and Harry but he raised a lot of valid points about their hypocrisies claiming to be so for the people and environmentalist while riding around on Elton John's jet and taking payment for speaking engagements to big corporations. Overall an interesting read.

I have been unsure of how to rate this because honestly I’m surprised that I managed to finish it so that brought the grade up a bit. Also there are real glimmers of insight and really good sections of him holding the government/celebrities to account, especially during covid. The diary aspect was a cool way to remember how things played out during covid too.
That being said, a lot of it was very reminiscent of the “old man angrily yelling at cloud” meme. The number of times he uses the word “wokery” or the term “woke brigade” is truly astounding and his bitterness at being rejected by Meghan Markle is laid out transparent for everyone to see in every paragraph that he berates her. He claims to understand debate, but then goes on to disagree and detest with most things that reasonable people wouldn’t have a problem with (eg men using papooses). There are also some worryingly intolerant/ignorant statements re trans people, mental health and aspects of racism, not to mention the worshipping of Churchill throughout.
So in all, Piers Morgan comes across as surprisingly much better than I would have thought before reading this book, but because the bar was already so low, it’s still terrible to read.

I went into this book hoping to be convinced - I am Piers' target audience. An open minded liberal who will engage in intelligent debate. However this book is not for me, nor is it for anyone who disagrees with him. Exactly 150 times he used the termed "woke" "wokies" or "illiberal liberals" - how are you meant to get those people on side when you slate their entire belief system at every opportunity you get. The language is cheap and lazy. 23 separate mentions of Harry and Meghan though he concludes that talking about them is a waste of time. 23 mentions of people you don't believe deserve air time. The use of random statistics and quotes that vaguely support his theories is lazy journalism, I expected more. My favourite being "86% (of a very large response) said no." Who knew you could leave out the most important contextual part of a statistic as long as your reader isn't going to question it.
I'm left thoroughly disappointed, whilst there are arguments and points within the book that I wholeheartedly agree with, I am left with a sour taste in my mouth. I wanted Piers to convince me that he was the voice of reason, that a discussion could be had that would unify a broken conversation, I am instead reaffirmed that there will never be a middle ground. He does not want to hear my opinion so ultimately I can not hear his.

I started reading it just because i wanted to try and test my own opinions. Who has strong opinions? Piers Morgan, let's read his book... MISTAKE, his tweets are boring, I should've probably known that his book was going to be on par but this time in 340 pages. I read 70 pages and I simply couldn't cope with the boredom anymore
