Genna Davis is a true icon and hero of mine. The more I learn about her the more I am intrigued and impressed. I loved learning about her early life and hearing how her career developed.
I loved the book, loved hearing her perspectives and I think the work she has done is incredible.

Beyond the fun stories of her career I really appreciated the core of the book.. dying of politeness which so many struggle with and watching her grow and find her voice and now advocating for equality and representation of women in media.

I really like reading celebrity memoirs and this one by Geena Davis did not disappoint. It was well written and very informative. I learned a lot about the actress life that I did not know.  If  you reading celebrity memoirs, I would recommend reading this one.

I really liked this book! I was always a fan of Geena Davis but I really did not know a lot about her life. Hearing it through her was a great experience!

A feminist perspective on how culture reinforces the marginalization of women, but funny. I had no idea about Geenas  cinematic portfolio and so now I go and see if she lived into what she said.

I'm a HUGE Beetlejuice fan so I was excited to listen to Geena Davis's audiobook. I can't believe I forgot her and Jeff Goldblum were actually married for a brief moment in time. She talks about regretting breaking things off with him. It was interesting to hear how she got into modeling and acting. I found it weird how many times she was told she wasn't conventionally pretty...like have you seen Geena Davis? I'm happy she went into detail about how her institute The Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media came to fruition and how that improved representation in media. One thing I wish she had went into more detail about was having her babies later in life and the children's father. I know not everything is our business but spill the tea! A great listen, Geena Davis is a national treasure and Bill Murray can kick rocks.
