I absolutely loved the The Illuminae Files trilogy when I read it in 2020. Such fun books, different from anything else I've read, from the format to the content. Memento is a great short novella prequel to dive back into the world of AIDAN. Was there enough content here to warrant a novella? I'm not really sure, but I know I don't care because it was just a delight to read. I read this as an ebook, in one go without putting it down even once.

I am ATTEMPTING to finish the Illuminae Files by the end of the year since it's the only fully completed series that I haven't finished yet on my TBR. Wish me luck on this journey 😮‍💨

This was AMAZING. I loved getting a little backstory on AIDAN and learning more about its development and issues. The way these authors are able to tug at your heartstrings through IM is WILD. Going to reread Illuminae next and I couldn't be more excited!!

A fun addition to the Illuminae Files! Not totally necessary, but tbh I'm obsessed with plots where AI starts to become sentient, so naturally, I'll drink up all the AIDAN content I can!

Appena finito e ho letteralmente la pelle d'oca! Amie Kaufman e Jay Kristoff non si smentiscono mai creando un capolavoro dietro l'altro. Ho adorato lo spinoff di questa serie, che è e rimane una delle mie preferite degli ultimi anni. In poco meno di 100 pagine gli autori sono riusciti a tenermi col fiato sospeso, a strapparmi il cuore e a far rinascere la voglia di rileggere l'intera serie ❤️ grazie anche alla Oscar Vault per aver tradotto questi libri

Holy shit, I was not prepared.

I’ve read so many novellas that provide insight into a larger story arc and usually my reaction is anywhere from “that was cute” to “that was cool” but this one was insane!

Kaufman and Kristoff throw readers right back into the deep end with the drama and the action. This story feels directly connected to the main novels, not like something on the side that doesn’t matter. The correlation is clear and impactful. Fans of the series should love this origin story in light of what it means later on.

I gasped. I dramatically clamped a hand over my mouth. My jaw dropped. This tiny, quickest of quick read actually effected me, which I absolutely was not prepared for.

Must read for fans of the series. So, so glad I got to experience this little gem and revisit this world I’ve desperately missed.
