Incredible! I miss being immersed in this series! AIDAN is one of the best parts of this entire series and seeing how he was damaged was interesting! I wish there was more! Loved reading it!

A rare never-before-sold prequel novella to The Illuminae Files to celebrate Illuminae's fifth anniversary

December, 2574. Forty-three days before the BeiTech attack on Kerenza IV.

This is the story of my first friendship.

This is the tale of my first murder?

Some monsters are born.

But I?

I was made.

CAWPILE

I decided not to do a CAWPILE for this since it was so short.

Review

Content Warning: Death and violence.

So, this will be a shorter review than I usually do as this was only 54 pages. As soon as I heard this was being released as an e-book and audiobook I was thrilled because I read all of the Illuminae trilogy earlier this year and really enjoyed it. One of my favourite things about the Illuminae Files was the exploration of morals and ethics and I was so glad it was covered again in this novella. As much as this was a short story it was really intense and thrilling. I especially enjoyed the dynamics and conversations between Aidan and Olivia.

Overall this was an enjoyable YA Sci-Fi novella set in the world of Illuminae that gave us some insight into AIDAN before the start of Illuminae.

Normally I complain of much description and think the book could use less pages. In this case I feel there should have been just a little more.
