3.5 stars "False Step" has an intriguing premise in a story that is filled with twists and turns. Unfortunately, it is also filled with unlikable characters. There really wasn't anyone to root for. I liked Veronica at the beginning but the as the book progressed, it became harder to have sympathy for her. I liked that the book was suspenseful with only a few slow parts. Overall, it was an interesting, quick summer read. I would read other books by this author, but would hope for characters that were easier to relate to.

More like a 3.5

A well paced satisfying read. While I guessed what happened relatively early on, I found the development interesting and the ending satisfying.

I was so excited when I got asked to join the TLC book tours for this book!! Jane Doe was one of my favorite books! I do want to let my fellow readers know before reading that False Step is different but it’s still a dark twisted tale that has you questioning every person in this books motive!! Tanner Holcomb is the young son of a wealthy family in Denver. He’s been missing now for days and everyone in the police department and the community have been frantically searching for him. When Johnny Bradley who was out running with his dog on some trails finds him he’s quickly called a hero. Johnny is handsome and a personal trainer and also the husband of Veronica and they have an adorable daughter Sydney. Johnny is interviewed by every media outlet and has his face splashed on every newspaper and he’s soaking it in. Veronica immediately has issues with Johnny’s new fame and seems very apprehensive about being interviewed by the media. Right away you know there are cracks in Veronica’s and Johnny’s marriage. When the police start questioning Johnny’s story and pull Veronica in asking where their whereabouts were on the night that Tanner was kidnapped. Veronica starts to get nervous. Soon Veronica is wondering what part did Johnny play in Tanners disappearance and will the constant media in their lives be to much for their family? What secrets is Johnny hiding? This book sucked me and was seriously an amazing thriller/ mystery! The build up and mystery around Veronica’s and Johnny’s marriage had me turning he pages! I still find myself thinking about this book and putting myself in Veronica’s shoes asking myself what I would have done!! I give this five stars!! Available July 1st 2019!!

Not quite as enthralling as Jane Doe, but I still enjoyed it. I figured out who the bad guy was,
Spoilermostly because there were only so many characters from which to choose
. I did appreciate
Spoiler how quickly Johnny died, that was a bit surprising
.

Quick read

Enjoyed mostly, but a bit predictable. Most of the time I found myself yelling aft the main character. However, entertaining enough to keep my attention from start to finish.

Solid meh read, better than a 2 star read, but also not quite good enough for a 3. The writing was good and the story was decent, if incredibly predictable and at times boring. It didn't really make me want to check out anything else that this author has written, but it did keep me reading until the end.
