Pros - I love Carley’s writing about Toronto and Muskoka. I’m seriously missing Toronto summers now! This b writes my teenage dreams for real.
CONS - JUSTICE. FOR. MOTHERFUCKING. JAYMAY. You’re telling me this bitch ass Will is the HERO in this story?! I don’t think so. I don’t think SO. This man ditches Fern like it’s his god damn day job, and I’m supposed to cheer while Fern begs this 32 year old man child to love her? Will needs to read Abby Jimenez bc you Sir are not it. Also I just LOVE it when men tell their partners that their “family comes first” - like this didn’t need to be an either or situation SIR. You could just be a fucking adult and treat all of your loved ones with respect (bitch ass).
Side note - you’re telling me this Fern girl is jerking off to Will for 10 YEARS after spending a SINGLE DAY with him when she was 22? Girl please.
I feel like Carley has such cute ideas for her roms but takes things a little too far out of reality LOL. Still love her painting of muskoka though.

šīs grāmatas varoņi bija tik komplicēti un sarežģīti, ka man izveidojās love-hate attiecības ar tiem. biju domājusi likt sākumā mazāku vērtējumu par šo, bet epilogs mazliet to paaugstināja. varbūt beigas mani mazliet pārliecināja, bet es tāpat palikšu pie tā, ka vilam ir vairāki sarkanie karogi un viņš ir ļoti sarežģīts vīrietis. kā mani kaitina miscommunication trope! fērnas vietā es jau sen būtu viņu aizmirsusi, kolīdz viņš neieradās piestātnē, un pasūtījusi viņu trīs mājas tālāk, kad viņš ieradās pēc 10 gadiem; gan jau atrastu arī kādu citu labu finanšu konsultantu. mani kaitināja vila "nerunāsim-par-šo" raksturs, neskaitāmie noslēpumi, kurus es pat nesaskatīju, kādēļ šādas detaļas būtu jāpatur noslēpumā. bija tik daudz dažādu problēmu un situāciju, kuras būtu atrisinājušās jau sen, ja vien vils runātu. kāpēc gan viņš nevarēja izstāstīt, ka sofija ir slima un viņam ir jāaizbrauc? es vienkārši nesaprotu. un nevajag runāt par to, ka viņu pamatīgi satricināja mammas aiziešana - jā, piekrītu, tas satricinātu jebkuru no mums, tomēr nevar to izmantot kā atrunu, kādēļ izvairīties no attiecībām ar pārējiem cilvēkiem. viņš tik ļoti negribēja līdzināties savai mammai, tomēr pameta fērnu jau divreiz gluži tāpat kā viņa māte. un anabellas ierašanās un saruna ar fērnu mani nokaitināja. kādēļ gan fērnai būtu par kaut ko jāatvainojas, kamēr vils dzīvo savā iedomu un noslēpumu pasaulē, kamēr tā ir viņa problēma, kādēļ viņš nav gatavas atklāt ikdienišķas detaļas par savu dzīvi? grāmata būtu bijusi krietni īsāka, ja galvenie varoņi RUNĀTU viens ar otru. kopumā - it was cute, man patika tās daļas par fērnas attiecībām ar viņas mammu (btw, fērnas mamma reāli nebija pelnījusi šādu fērnas attieksmi, īpaši brīdī, kad fērna izlēma tomēr palikt toronto), un epilogs mani mazliet saraudināja.
