Savage Rivals

Lost a star for unnecessarily taking place in high school (I don't care that they're 18 reading about high schoolers having sex in graphic detail will never not be uncomfy for me) but gained half a star back for no third-act break-up.

After the heaviness of my last read, this is exactly what I needed. A quick palette-cleanser with almost zero stakes revolving around boys who are so obsessed with each other they've convinced themselves their rivalry is the reason they can't get each other out of their minds is exactly what the doctor ordered.

As mentioned, my one qualm with this book is them being in high school when it was completely irrelevant to the plot. It would've been just as easy to have set this in university or even just, like, the summer after high school. But that's more of a personal issue/preference.

Overall, however, very much enjoyed. Boys being clueless is a fave genre of mine, and there were also some very sweet moments. Also, I adored the side characters. Both the MCs best friends might've as well been named Valentina because they really said "ALLY!" with zero hesitation. Male friendships are so important and I feel like there's never enough good ones, especially no queer/straight ones. Good soup.

I loved this book so much, I wish it could have gone on forever! I loved both main characters, the chemistry was great and I thought the epilogue was perfection.

Asher Henderson & Levi Woodford. Such a cute rival-to-lover new adult bi-sexual story. My favorite trope is rivals to lovers mm sports romance. These boys were so sweet once they figured out they were attracted to each other. I love that there wasn’t a lot of inner turmoil or self-loathing about being hot for another guy. Sweet ending epilogue with them being husbands.

I love how cute they are. There really is a thin line between hate and love. They were willing to experiment together and discover what they liked together. Did I mention that they are so cute.

From the beginning their rivalry was epic. I could feel it simmering in the air around them. The writing was wonderful and I regretted not getting my hands on this book before. I was slightly disappointed at the end. I loved them more when they were at each others throat.

I was seriously expecting a fight when Levi went to warn Asher for attacking his friend instead he asked for Asher's aftershave. I was laughing so hard that everyone wondered whether I had lost my mind and I loved when they shared a candy floss at the Halloween party.

OMG!! They're so hot together. Their chemistry is making me sweating all over and I was astonished that they kissed still confessing their hate for the other. I adore everything about the pair.

I expected a huge fight to explode over their relationship but I was kinda disappointed when it didn't. Even their parents accepted it easily. It was the only thing that nagged at me otherwise the book was awesome.
