This was exaaaaaaaactly what I needed lol. I feel like for a book like this to get FIVE stars out of me, I have to really feel the friendship part. Like, I find it very hard to believe two people who hate each other (and in reality, don't really know each other) are just like, "Wow I find you super attractive, let's jump into bed." Without enough of the actual friendship blossoming.

But idk it was super fun, it was just what I wanted, the steam was good. It was just a good time and it hit the spot!

DID NOT FINISH: 74%

I liked the first part of the book when Levi and Asher were rivals. There was an intensity to their interactions and their first few kisses that felt exciting, but the change from hatred to besotted did not feel natural to me. It probably would have worked if there had been more hints that they actually liked each other and the hatred was not actually hatred, just frustration, but that required a subtlety that was absent from this book.

They also go from admitting to being attracted to each other to "really liking" each other and wanting to be boyfriends really quickly. That could have been a sweet moment, but I felt nothing because there has been no attempt to give these guys a personality besides being competitive and being rich/poor. Maybe throughout all their interactions over the year previous to the beginning of the story they've got to know each other better than they thought they did, but there's no reference to that at any moment. Besides, that wouldn't help the fact that I barely know anything about them.

By the time I stopped reading it seemed like things were heading into mushy territory. Even the sex that seemed exciting at the beginning turned out to be generic and uninspired.
