I have never been so excited to read a book in my life. I was so excited for his book!

Like any IAD book, we crossed paths with MANY characters in the Lore. Ones I was beyond thrilled to see again (cough cough Lothaire). Munro was as good as every other IAD in the series, packed with romance, the undying yearning of main H, and plenty of twists and turns along the way.

This book is everything any IAD fan was waiting for and more! It scratched that long time itch, and yes, Munro is as sweet as he was in MacGrieve!

Oh and we got a little more insight on a very specific character that’s been mentioned in many storylines thus far… can’t wait for the next one!

Actually, I can’t wait for the Robert Petkoff audiobook of Munro so I can read it again!!!! Best narrator in the GAME for one of the best fantasy romance series ever!

I did it! I finished IAD (so far!) And this one was, of course, a banger.  There is a moment in every one of these books where the hero insists that his heroine has to change and they are so inflexible about it. And by the end of the book, he has realized that they have to change just as much. And that's the goods in these books.

Munro is certainly just the continuation we have all been looking for in this remarkable series that many of us have been anticipating and looking forward to for a very long time. This story takes us on a mind-bending journey through time and space, teaching us that love knows no boundaries and that planning for a future doesn’t always mean it is the right one for us. Munro has his entire world rocked when Ren enters his sphere and does everything in his power to ensure that he never loses her again to anything, even her own fears and stubbornness. Munro is the perfect alpha male, but like most males makes his share of mistakes and almost loses his love to stupid mistakes until he finally opens his mind and heart to truly offer what she needs—understanding. Ren is a hardcore warrior, one that would never be willing to give her heart or body to a monster, but she quickly learns that not all Monsters are evil and not all humans are good. That change in perspective leads to an expansion that changes her entire life and Ren is more than willing to jump into the deep end for the man who has offered her so much including the love she never knew she needed. The passion these two share is off the Richter scale from the beginning, making it even more fun for us to watch them resisting one another as they fight their needs, until they finally give into one another and their Instincts. I loved every second of this story, tears, laughs, fears, and happiness, as these two found their way to love and a future together. It was great getting to see many of the couples from previous stories, sharing in their lives and even seeing Ellie managing Lothaire still so skillfully. I am dying to find out what comes next (look out for that epilogue folks, it’s a killer!) and cannot wait to learn what happens in the ultimate battles as well as see who gets their mate next and the trials they will have to overcome. All I can say for sure is that whatever comes next, the Queen is back with a vengeance!

Man, where do I even begin? I guess I should start out by saying I can’t believe I JUST READ MUNRO BY KRESLEY COLE! OMG! IT’S SO EXCITING! WOOHOO!

Now you might be asking yourself if it was necessary for me to shout like that and the answer is yes! I don’t normally yell in my reviews, but I’ve just missed Ms. Cole and the Immortals After Dark series so much that my joy and enthusiasm for the return of both cannot be contained! I have to say that even though it took a little longer than expected for Munro to get here, it truly felt like no time had passed while I was reading. Ms. Cole was completely in her element and she delivered familiarity, freshness, and feeling. Diving into Munro and Kereny’s story was just like stepping back into this world seamlessly and it was totally worth the wait — I wholeheartedly loved Munro!

Munro was everything I hoped for and more. Kereny was a total capable, fierce, competent boss woman and Munro was so sweet, utterly devoted to Kereny and just so into Kereny busting his chops and giving him a hard time. They both have their flaws but I adored them both on their own and as a couple. Their chemistry is electric and undeniable and I couldn’t get enough!

Munro was strong, thrilling, and so easy to read. I loved meeting new-ish characters and especially getting to see all the old ones I love. I felt so much happiness and excitement while reading, I was one hundred percent invested and captured, it all still feels so surreal that I just read and finished a new book in the Immortals After Dark series. Munro was amazing and beautiful and I loved it so hard and can’t wait for even more to come!

slow read

This installment of the series took me so so so long to finish. There wasn’t anything really wrong with the characters but I didn’t feel all that attached to them or their chemistry. I found myself getting bored.

I’ll still read future books for this series but this particular one isn’t one of the favorites.

I cannot even give this a rating….as it was abundantly clear that either too much time has passed since I’ve read KC or this is not comparable to her previous work.
When I had started this series, eons ago, it was about fun Valkyries in New Orleans. Then the world built up arround that and it was fun. This ain’t fun no mo’

Either 20 year old me and now me have very different ideas of what a good paranormal novel is or this is indeed very poorly crafted. I see a bunch of 5 star reviews

Think Munro suffers just a little bit from anticipation let-down - I liked a lot of parts of it, but it wasn't quiiiiiiite the book I wanted (look, it's a time-travel romance and while Kresley deals with a lot of the problems of time-travel plots well, it still got under my skin).

I also feel like Kresley gave herself a lot of "get out of jail free" cards with this book. Plot points that were built up as potentially fraught moments were handled with just a couple of paragraphs, deus ex author-style. Someone on the Fated Mates live call said it felt a lot like a pandemic book, in that it felt softer, and I would agree with that. The worst emotional moments are at the beginning of the book, so the black moment comes very early and it's a bit...odd...that way.

Lots of great opportunities for IAD Easter Eggs and visits from past fave couples, a bit too much infodumping about the Lore, etc. than in previous books, imo.

Kereny and Munro. A match that crosses time and a love that is as reluctant to them as it as inevitable. From the realm of Quondam to the wilds of Transylvania, to Louisiana and the realm of the Dacians, their story starts in death and misery, it's a battle of wills and a fight for survival. Its everything you could possibly want for hotter and his mate. Its epic, passionate, fierce and action pact and Nix and Lothaire are front and center with plenty more of the Lore there for this unforgettable couple as they battle themselves and the danger that surrounds them for a life together.

So happy that Kresley is writing again and this book did not disappoint at all! These books never quite go the way I think they will but I always love the ride!
You can read this as a stand-alone but there are a lot of references to the previous books in the series and all those books are amazing so do yourself a favor and read all of those first!
