I have waited so very long for the next book in this series. It was worth the wait. I loved the journey Munro and Kerney take and seeing all the past characters from previous books was like seeing long lost friends again. Also, loved the reveal at the end.

First some advice: read the series again before this book. It made it that much more enjoyable to have the story fresh in my memory. Talk about being absolutely worth the wait! This book left me completely ramped up for the next book…and the next one and the next one. This series just never misses and the bar is set high and each book just keeps pushing it higher. The absolutely worst part is now having to wait for the next one (fingers crossed it’s not years in waiting). The story was great but it was the reveals that pushed the story forward even more that was insane!’ I can’t wrap my head around how the author keeps it all straight and how everything ties to something else. I started the book at 5pm and finished it at 3:30am. I literally couldn’t put it down. So yea absolutely recommend.
Another one I really enjoyed! I was definitely curious to see Munroe’s story. He was such a solid, sober dude in macreive’s story so I was curious to see how things unfolded with his mate. I loved the whole story and the conflict around choice. As always, good to see lothaire, and there was great glimpses of other lore couples. I got a
Title confused with all the time travel justifications, but I was happy enough to say “romance reasons” and not get too caught up in it. I thought ren’s first impression of cell phone was hilarious - glowing rectangle box that they stared at and petted in idolatry. So good.
There never was an answer as to why it was 7 days for ren to revive And I do believe this was the series first claiming of 2 lykae? I was down for it. I loved Munro and I just don’t have the words right now to explain why. It just is.

I waited like five years for this book to come out and it was so worth it. I love that the author is publishing again, and even though it was self-pubbed it was still just as good as the first 16 or whatever books of the series. Well done.
The Queen of Stories reigns! Kresley doesn't disappoint with a badass heroine and a sizzling Lykae who loves her like no other! I stayed up way past my bedtime reading this one!
Though this book can be read as a standalone story, I wish I'd reread the series to remember more of the other character's back stories.
I'm so sad to say this did NOT work for me at all. The problem was not Munro. The problem was Kereny. I found her very annoying. It pains me to give this book 2 stars because this series is my favorite! And usually the Lykae books are bangers.

So... I know everyone else has been absolutely in love with this book, but it just isn't working for me? I was way more obsessed with Macrieve's (Munro's brother) book. I'm going to put this down for now and pick it up again later.

I came to IAD during the pandemic, so I've only been waiting a little over a year for this to be released as opposed to five. That being said, I was super excited for this to come out, which is quite a bit of pressure on a book.
This isn't the greatest installment, but it is satisfying for the most part. While the hero and heroine are nowhere near my favorites, the familiarity of this world and my joy at being back in it kept me from being disappointed.
Munro, our Lykae hero, is fine, but the fact that he was basically existing for his brother for 900 years means that he's pretty undefined. He doesn't have much of a personality on his own, which is unfortunate. The backstory with his, while poignant, didn't really flesh him out as much as it could have.
Ren, the heroine, is fun. She's a tough little monster hunting badass who wants to control her own destiny and is not at all excited to find herself drawn fully into the Lore world. I would have liked a little more of her being thrown to find herself in the future and away from everything she knows and loves- especially her brand new husband.
When we first really meet her it's about 100 years in the past and she's at her wedding. We quickly learn that she's not really all that thrilled to be marrying her fiancé. I always think it's a cop out to have someone with a partner in the past that they don't really love that much. Them being so easily able to move on doesn't really give much meat for the reader to chew on. Ren likes her husband, but it's obvious that he's more like a brother and they have no spark. When everything goes to shit and she ends up traveling forward through time she isn't exactly devastated by the loss of him.
Unfortunately, there'd have been a lot more emotional heft to her story if she'd beed truly upset over being taken from her wedding night. If she'd struggled at all, the moment in the future where she learns (from his obituary) that her husband moved on with his life and found real love with someone else would have been a stellar moment in the book instead of a meh one. If she'd been pushing Munro away because she'd wanted to get back to her hubs, that knowledge could have been freeing for her and allowed her to emotionally move forward. Unfortunately, her attachment to her husband is so slight that you have to wonder why she would ever have agreed to marry him in the first place. They have history together, but it doesn't explain why Ren would ever have agreed to become his wife.
That relationship doesn't serve as any kind of obstacle for the main couple and pales in comparison to her being a monster hunter fated to a monster. The enemies to lovers aspect of this had me very excited for the first chunk of the book. I actually wish she'd resisted Munro for longer because of how she viewed Lykae, but she pretty much jumps him at the first opportunity. From that moment on the tension basically drains away and you're just idling until enough pages have passed for them to bang/find their happy ending.
The standout moments in this book involve Nix and Lothaire, which is not surprising. Also unsurprising is the fact that as soon as I finished this I wanted the next installment. I really, really hope the wait won't be as long. Overall I'm just happy we have this. It was great to be back in the Lore with so many of the characters we love.
