Another fascinating installment in the IAD series. Definitely has me pumped for Kristoff's story and possibly the new player revealed in the epilogue.
Ultimately I enjoyed this. Not as much as a few in the series but more than most. I did like both Munro and Kereny. I thought they were a good match for one another as mates. I especially loved the second half of the book. The first half was interesting and moved the plot along but I felt frustrated by the pace of the relationship between the MCs. We spent so much time focused on the arguing and combative behavior between the two that I grew exhausted just reading it. Maybe if they'd both decided to express their actual feelings on why they didn't want to do certain things it wouldn't had to have been so weighed down by this oppressive air of disagreement and frustration between them. It took too long for either to see reason and admit to their perfectly rational reasoning.
Am I annoyed we had to drag that out and then speed through the last half (70%ish and on) when they were fully together and in alignment with their future and feelings? Definitely. Nothing more frustrating tbh but I still enjoyed it.

I really Lykae this series
I will admit it took me a while to get into this book, and while it isn’t my favourite of the werewolf books in this series, it did a whole bunch for world building and bringing characters back together.
There was a lot going on and while I LOVED the ending and the second quarter, the beginning and the third quarter of the book seemed to drag a bit. Only a bit though.
All in all a brilliant return to form by the wonderful Kresley Cole

- Main Couple: Munro (lykae) / Kereny aka Ren (human then lykae)
- POVs Included: Dual (Munro, Ren), Lothaire
In this book we FINALLY pick up with Munro where we were left off with him at the end of his brother's book, [b:MacRieve|8158992|MacRieve (Immortals After Dark, #13)|Kresley Cole|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1360517706l/8158992._SY75_.jpg|13001065]. Munro has just lost his only fated mate to his torturers and he is desperate to get her back. So he uses the very powers of those who have tortured him to travel back in time to save her. But bringing someone forward to the future isn't without its problems. And Munro and Ren have a lot of hurdles they have to get through in order to make it to their HEA.
I enjoyed this one a lot. It's great to finally get Munro's book after so long of a wait and to see what finally happens with him and his mate. The adventure was pretty fun in this one, since he had to do some traveling through time, which was a new one for the series and I loved it!
What I didn't love was the whole human mate and now they have to find a way to make her immortal deal. Thankfully, it all works out in the end, but it was a stressful journey to get there. It's not my favorite trope to do this. I'd much prefer them both to be immortal already and the conflict to be something else. But it still worked out.
I did think that Munro was such a sweetheart and I adored their sweet romance.
I loved that they traveled to Dacia to see Lothaire about helping them with Ren's mortality problem. So much fun to see him! I love his character. And his epilogue with Nix was so sweet. I love their friendship, it's awesome.
I also liked that we got some more tidbits of information on the overarching plot! In particular we find out that Furie's mate is none other than..........Kristoff! Very cool! I can definitely see this pairing and I really REALLY hope that their book will be next. Those two have been in the background since the very VERY beginning and they deserve to get some HEA action going on.
Overall it was a great book! I'm so excited that Kresley is back to writing them and I'm hoping that with her YA series wrapping up, she will jump back into these in order to complete the overarching plot. I don't WANT the series to end, but at the same time I really want a conclusion to the immortal war plot going on to actually happen. And the longer out the series goes, the more I worry we won't get that. We'll see though. She is an excellent writer (one of my absolute favorites) and I can't wait to see what comes next in the series!

Not my favourite of the IAD series - I know some people say there is a difference in the writing of Munro compared to previous due to the time that KC had off writing, however I don't think this was too obvious. I wasn't the biggest fan of Ren for a lot of the story, no particular reason why, I think I just preferred other females from the series more. Munro had a really well developed back story, and I loved the inclusion of so many other characters - especially couples from books a good 7 books ago! All in all, a good KC novel that even though I didn't fall head over heels for, I will read again.
Graphic: Cursing, Death, Sexual content
Moderate: Child death
Minor: Death of parent
Another fire release from Kresley Cole. Finally getting those answers from the teaser a few books back.
