This one didn’t do it for me as much as do your worst. I found a lot of the sexy scenes to be really cringe just with some of the things that were said. I thought the premise was really interesting and really cool and I really liked Alex as a character, but I didn’t find much redemption for the male lead. he had his moments, but I feel like he backtracked so frequently, and he was constantly making gross comments in his head and I just didn’t appreciate them at all.

I read everything Rosie Danan writes!
I’m particularly enjoying her foray into supernatural romances, tho I will say I don’t love them as much as her contemporaries. I do enjoy that she is clearly grappling with a large question in each of them, in this case: fandom. How do we interact with popular culture as a fan, consuming fan fiction, when are lines crossed, what does it means for the actors/actresses playing these roles, the ethical quandaries of child acting, etc. This book doesn’t attempt to solve this large of a topic but it does show each protagonist grappling with these questions in their own roles in perpetuating them: as the lead actor and as the lead fandom expert.
