The healthiest relationship I've ever read!!!! (eventually, but everyone has to learn to deal with their baggage, and not many people can navigate it as well as they did)
This one was a little bit more difficult for me to get through at one point, but it was fascinating to learn more about the lives and the dynamics in Oliver's family's side of the world. The mystery didn't stand up as much I think as the first one, but I'd probably forgive anything as long as I could read more about Oliver and Cooper.

With you I'm finally home.
delicious literally so DELICIOUS how do the books keep getting better & better... i asked for more of oliver & his family and i received!!!! this was everything i wanted it to be, and beyond. i simply could not put this book down it was sooo good!
it's no secret that i love cooper an insane amount so seeing him suffering like this & knowing it could have been prevented by oliver, even if only just a little, but he chose not to, was hard. i adore oliver too & would die for him in a heartbeat but i wanted to shake him sooooooo bad!
i was glad to see cooper finally confronting him about it & demanding answers, demanding to be treated with the same honesty he was showing oliver. because woaaahhhh did he grow from the closed-off & suspicious man we got to know in the wolf at the door. he's still kind of an anxious mess with a lot of bagage to carry but he's TRYING!!!! he's trying SO hard & i'm happy that oliver is trying now too, instead of pretending to be someone he's not because he thinks that's who cooper wants him to be.
also oliver saying that cooper is his alpha caught me off guard a bit but it makes SO MUCH SENSE when you see their relationship through this new lense. the way oliver reacts to cooper's presence, to his touch, the way he desperately wants to please him no matter what, how attuned he is to his every word & action, how shy & soft he gets around him only. they are my darlings so much i cannot stress this enough!!!!!
and finally cooper got to see oliver in his wolf form!!! hopefully this was only the first time of many! because i desperately need oliver to be more open about all things werewolves with cooper, for the sake of their relationship.
one other thing i love is that every book is set in a different place, and this one did not disappoint. the world-building is amazing, it was so fun to learn more about werewolves' society as a whole. the politics, the rivalries, the dynamics. the murder mystery plot did not interest me as much as the first two simply because i was so caught up in literally everything else!
oh and did we figure out why eli was so close to oliver that first time we met him? LOL? i love eli i hope we'll get to see more of him! he's such a fun character, just the right amount of little shit wrapped up in a beautiful man <3
anyway, long story short i absolutely cannot wait to keep reading about their adventures, but until then, a few of my favourite quotes from this one:
He'd needed time to relearn his new reality. Again. For the first time now. Almost as if Park's absence was as disruptive as a broken bone or a shredded gut.
&
Park had him like a fever did. Thought-altering, blood-boiling and all-consuming.
&
I don't like to talk about anything, Oliver, but I do it for you.
&
He didn't say "It's okay" because it wasn't, or "I know" because he didn't. He didn't say "I'm sorry" because it was an empty, ritualistic platitude, or "You don't need her" because need had nothing to do with it. It was about want. And at some point, at least once in a lifetime, no matter who or why or what came before, everyone wants their mom.
&
You've seen the worst of me. You are the best of me. I won't ever risk losing that again.
&
And trust wasn't something to rush or abuse.
charlie adhara the writer you are!!!
