✨my top books of 2021✨
Re-read June 2022: If there is one thing I can give Adhara true credit for, it’s playing the long game with developing characters. It is rare to see such carefully constructed, slow burn character development that I feel actually was executed well.
Also, I know I keep harping on it in all of my reviews of the series, but this book really dug into the whole idea of a broken system and how Cooper could no long justify being a cog in the wheel of said system. I want to say this comes from character growth, but something is holding me back; I’m not completely sold on the genuineness of the sentiments he is expressing.

First Read December 2021 (5/5): YES! This book was AMAZING. I love angst and mess and this book fucking DELIVERED.
My one complaint thus far had been how I felt I didn’t really know who Park was, but boy do I now!
One of my absolute favorite things in all of fiction is taking this character that people think is perfect and carefully deconstructing them into an actual human being and Charlie Adhara pulled it off so well. I was worried it would be all build up and the reveals and such would be subpar but this book just fucking DELIVERED.
