Really enjoyed this. The story is extremely unique, grungy, and somehow whimsical. I loved how Borne evolved over time, such a cool concept. I had a few issues with how the story wrapped up, but in general I had a ton of fun with this book.

I absolutely loved the premise, and Jeff VanderMeer's writing is definitely something I need more of in my life. How could I not enjoy a post-apocalyptic novel that involves strange creatures and explores the relationship between humans and nature? It had some pacing issues, and I actually wished the book was longer so it could go deeper into the characters and themes, but overall this was a wonderful and unique quick read.
