Really lovely, thoughtful, and surprisingly poetic and tender for being a sci-fi post-apocalyptic dystopia. Some of the reveals felt a little stale, but overall I loved the philosophy and lushness of this world and the writing.

I think I prefer annihilation to this. This moved slowly and was much more focused on its characters than advancing the plot. I did like borne as a character and his relationship with those around him.
