Of all the wonders that I yet have heard, It seems to me most strange that men should fear, seeing that death, a necessary end, will come when it will come.
my first ever shakespeare!!! (yes i know i'm so cultured) and i'm so, so happy that it was instead of romeo and juliet. love the characters, love the sword-stabby everything that went on in the end of the play, the themes present and tbh my heart kinda clenched when caesar said et tu, brute because like... even you, brutus?
MY HEART
MY HEART
“I could be well moved if I were as you.
If I could pray to move, prayers would move me.
But I am constant as the Northern Star,
Of whose true fixed and resting quality
There is no fellow in the firmament.
The skies are painted with unnumbered sparks;
They are all fire, and every one doth shine;
But there’s but one in all doth hold his place.”
Is this story the tragedy of Caesar or actually just the tragic love story or Brutus and Cassius? Lol, regardless, Im really glad I took the time to read through the entirety of Caesar. It’s super compelling definitely one of my favorite tragedies.

Really good, but of course it's Shakespeare. much different than I expected.
Excellent dramatization of the assaination of julius ceasar. Source of many quotes. some of my favorite:
"With fearful bravery, thinking by this face to fasten in our thoughts that they have courage; But 't is not so."
"Mischief thou art afoot, Take thou what course thou wilt."
"This is the most unkindest cut of all."
" I fear I wrong the honourable men Whose daggers have stabb'd Casear; I do fear it."
"O judgement! thou art fled to brutish beasts, and men have lost their reason."
"The evil that men do lives after them; The good is oft interred with their bones;"
"men at some time are masters of their fates; The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, But in ourselves, that we are underlings."
" Cry HAVOC and let slip the dogs of war"
I identified most closely with Brutus. Because his motivation seemed th emost pure. He died an evil act against a friend because he thought it was for the good of his fellow citezens.
