I can't decide whether I loved this because it fit the perfect mold of what you'd expect in a story or if it were too predictable in elements, simply because everything went according to expectation. Nonetheless, it is popular for a reason. I do recommend.

Wasn't a big fan of this one. The last 2 acts were really dull and Rome just isn't my thing.

Never really been a fan of Shakespeare (except for the story Romeo and Juliet). It was an okay book overall

great work. It astonishes me that society regards Shakespeare's works on such a scholarly and academic level, when his work was clearly meant for the people, the everyday folks. He was a master of his time and while he may have been flawed and a tragic hero himself, I think (despite conspiracies of who actually wrote the works as Shakespeare) it was someone who had a deep understanding to human nature. Julius Caesar can definitely be applied in everyday life and I honestly wish that I read this sooner. Although, I protest that I am a Shakespeare enthusiast, I have stayed away from the politic dramas/tragedy pieces but now I want to dive into them all. Not to mention, possibly re-read them over again.

read this for required reading in high school.

While I'm sure much of this play went over my head, the characters and their relationships really struck me. I felt true heartache for them, and was stirred by their powerful speeches (especially Cassius, Brutus, and Antony). Considering I have a hard time with Shakespeare, that was really surprising to me, and I ended up liking it a lot more than I was expecting.
