This was an intense read, totally gripping. Every turn of the page hit in the damn feels. Stunich is not afraid to drag her characters through every level of hell and back. And I have a feeling it's only going to amp up tenfold in book three.

this one was way better than the first book, but honestly still cringey. but i actually really like the whole “father serial killer is unhinged” plot line

This Series has a way of sucking you in

This Series has a way of sucking you in. I was intrigued by the concept with the first book and the second book hasn't disappointed either. The characters keep getting sucked deeper into a hole they aren't sure how to get out of but they continually try to mitigate as much damage as they can. It will definitely be interesting to see what the third book brings and how all of this will be solved.

FINALLY! Dakota and the gang are back! And uhhhh my heart strings. CM does this to me every time. The first book blows your mind but then the second one doubles it. How? How was this so good I couldn’t put it down. CM wrote an incredible book that added so many layers to these already complex characters and story. By far, this is one of my favorite suspense books I’ve read in a while! And ahhhhh my pear pear

4.5 Stars.
⭐ didn't like/DNF
⭐⭐ was okay but I won't be looking for a sequel
⭐⭐⭐ was good I'll probably look for next book
⭐⭐⭐⭐ thoroughly enjoyed this. Was great and I'll definitely be looking for any others
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I loved it so much I added it to my Amazon cart to buy paperback as soon as I finished it

This was fantastic. The development of their relationship, the struggles, the emotional roller-coaster... it's well written - as expected.

Characters:
Dakota - she is such a strong character to be still going. She's grown a lot. She's confused about her feelings and relationship between all three boys but is determined to keep them.
Parrish - we get Parrish back in this book. He obviously is struggling with both readjusting back home, coming to terms with Kota loving both boys as well, dealing with Tess who if she was over protective before has gone Defcon 1 and of course the Slayer. But it does feel like at the end he is ready to tell Kota that all 4 of them can be together but we will have to see.
Chasm - he has too much heart this guy. He's self sacrificing and deserves the world.
Maxx - as in the first book Maxx isn't as big a presence which sucks. This guy is amazing. He's also self sacrificing and has stepped back for Parrish.

Story:
There isn't as much "action" in this book. Not as many demands but they do get Parrish back only to find Maxine is suddenly staying with Justin but that cliffhanger suggests that unlike what they all thought Kota didnt trade Parrish for Maxine which as she thinks to herself she doesn't think she can go through what she did with Parrish again and I really hope that isn't the case. Repetition in this instance won't be good for the story...

December please hurry

Yes!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

First off, let's talk about the length of this bad boy...696 pages! I'm not about to give any spoilers for this book. Just know that it was great. Can't wait to see how all of the relationships progress in the next book.

loved

When I first started reading this series, I hated it. I dunno what the deal was, so I stopped reading after the first and stepped away. Decided to come back and I am so glad I did. I am loving this so much. I love the mystery mixed in, makes for a fun, yet intense read.
