Some of these myths I knew, most were new to me. What was so interesting about this book was how little has changed in three thousand plus years of patriarchy. That how women were portrayed, in a previous age, has been so powerful that the stories are familiar even when we don't know them. I like also how we see that in the many versions of myths in different points of time, women are portrayed in a  slightly better or slightly worse way but not necessarily in a linear progress. We often believe a myth that with time, and technological progress, social progress occurs but this isn't what actually happens. These myths illustrates how the  patriarchy drags women further back whenever it can. 

Could not recommend this book more highly.
