I'm pretty sure my less enthusiastic response for this is because I have never listened to anything like it. I realize radio shows like this used to be big in the states, and they are still done across the pond, but I couldn't really keep track of things too well. It was very much like listening to a TV show with audio captions for the blind, and the lack of transitions gave the story less solidity than I would have liked. It may also have to do with the fact that--despite my absolute love for The Doctor--I am a "new" Whovian. I have not seen any episodes of the show before 8th Doctor. My knowledge of 3rd Doctor (the one in this "play") is limited to him being stuck on Earth and his liking for karate and velvet suits. If I were more in touch with the earlier series, I'm sure I would have liked it a lot more. I'm still glad I gave this medium a try, though.

A faithful rendition of the TV story, featuring the actual actor spoken lines from the programme. The downside of this is that some lines are obscured by the background noise from the scene. When you're watching that's not such a problem since you have a visual aid to what's happening.
It also has a bonus interview with 'Mike Yates'

This is a good series of episodes and the linking narration by the actor who played Yates is really nicely done. A short interview with "Yates" is split and is the last chapter on each disc and is entertaining.

The Doctor and Jo investigate a new-fangled prison-reform device called the "Keller Machine" which is supposed to suck the evil thoughts right out of convicts. Clearly, something sinister is up
and then the Master shows up and things really hit the fan!
. It's up to Jo and the Doctor to sort out what's going on and the Brig with his UNIT troops to somehow, at the same time, keep the locally held World Peace Conference from being derailed by the transportation of an illegal missile that the government is trying to dump into the sea!

Very exciting, nicely plotted, pretty fun to listen to.
