Clay's Hope is basically the first book of the Judgement of the Six series but told in Clay's point of view. Now, that doesn't really mean that everything was exactly the same, because it wasn't. Clay's point of view was very different, and very interesting.

I enjoyed this book a lot. Although, I have to admit Gabby seemed kind of like a brat from Clay's point of view. Not that he thought that, but I sure did. Other than that the book was really enjoyable, and it was nice to get to read it from a different perspective. It makes me very interested to read more in this series now.

Good storytelling through Clay's perspective. Not as repetitious as you would think.

For once a paranormal romance that is romance, not smut. It is a sweet and funny story of 2 very different people with very different powers living in a world that doesn't see the supernatural forces around them.

Clay’s POV was meh. I liked the story from Gabby’s POV much better. I’m still glad I read it no matter how repetitive Clay’s thoughts were.

While some authors write the same story from a different perspective in what seems to be a simple a cash grab, this is definitely not what Haag has done. (Though I will have a review coming out in a couple of days about a book that does just this in my opinion.) Instead, this story manages to give great insight into the world from a werewolf perspective. While many of the scenes are the same as those in Hope(less), they read almost as completely different scenes coming from Clay’s perspective. And I love it.

This story shows Clay transforming from a sad and lonely werewolf to a man with passion and a reason to live. I adore it as it shows a man pulling himself out of a sense of hopelessness and into the light. It shows him coming to terms with his current shortcomings and putting the work in to overcome them.

It also shows the way that he struggles to be the man that Gabby needs him to be. Of course his patience works out in the end, but that doesn’t stop him from getting frustrated at the slow progression of their relationship. He grew up knowing the rules of his world while Gabby did not, Gabby grew up knowing the rules of the human world while Clay continues to struggle with understanding them.

But my favourite part of this story has to be getting so see the way the same interaction can be interpreted from both perspectives. By reading Hope(less) and Clay’s Hope back to back, it’s clear how different a situation might seem to the people in it. More on this later. If you’re looking for a cute little romance surrounding a shapeshifter plot line, you might enjoy this story. While the first book in a series that I enjoy reading from time to time, it also holds up as its own love story. However, if you read it – or the two of them – without carrying on with the story, be prepared for some plot lines that’ll never get resolved.

That being said, there are some very serious things that happen in this story that I am in no way endorsing in real life. While it’s not explicitly written this way, there are moments that could be considered stalking or coercion. These things are not things that should ever be done in a real relationship.

Review copy provided by author in exchange for an honest review.

I really wanted to like this book, I really did... And though I love reading about werewolves (they're my favorite paranormal creatures together with vampires), it turned out to be a disappointment.
There were quite a few things that went wrong in this novel for me. I do hope I don't scare too many people off because you never know, it might be a good fit for someone else. But for me it wasn't a good fit at all.

Hope(less) started out with a 16 y/o Gabby meeting werewolf Sam, who eventuelly takes her in. I already had issues with this. Gabby, as a main character wasn't too bad to read about in general, though she seriously annoyed me at times. But I had a huge problem with Sam and his mottives. Even two years later, he kept on lying to her and about the "Introductions". I just... yeah, I didn't like it. Also I didn't get Gabby's powers at all and the fact that men go cray-cray around her. It felt like a totally different story.

And then we have Clay, which is supposed to be Gabby's mate. I don't have a problem with werewolves meeting the one, who's their mate. I read stories where this happened before where I didn't have a problem with but it was Clay himself who I couldn't like. If I have to describe him in word one, it would be: stalker. Seriously, people think Edward Cullen is a stalker but this guy wins the award of it. I'm not going to elaborate too much on this. You'll just have to read about it yourself to get it.

In short, this was not the right book for me. It happens. And I hate giving bad reviews but I want to be honest and say I didn't like it at all. Also the typos were kind of annoying me. That's a big deal for me. But one positive thing I want to say is that because the book is below 300 pages I think, it's a pretty quick read and reading is goes pretty fast. Other than that, I can't find any positive things to say sadly enough. But again, other people might like this book but for me it was definitely a thumbs down.

I seriously loved this book. Normally I don't write any reviews, because I don't see what my opinion matters for someone else's decision to read or not to read the book, but for once I just feel the need to share how much I loved it.
The fact that all the six books are connected makes me very curious for the others, and I will buy them.
Okey, to start with this book. I've read in about two days, because I couldn't stop reading it. I read 'till way past 2 A.M. when I had to wake up in the morning at 8 A.M.. So you'll understand how hard it was to get through the day just to do the same the next evening just because I couldn't stop reading.
I seriously loved it and am going to recommend this book to everyone who I know will love it just as much as me.
I've become a huge fan of Melissa Haag.

I had a craving to read this book again out of the blue, and while I did enjoy it, that mostly had to do with Clay. I reread this book for Clay, he is a pure and innocently beautiful creature who I will love until my dying day.

Gabby, on the other hand, is a painful character to read about. The whole book she is frustratingly blind and too wrapped up in her own fears to see what's in front of her. I ended up reading the second book but never got further than that, mainly because nothing else interested me much in the series other than Clay.
