4.5* - You may be thinking: Ana, how the hell did this book take you 3 months to read?? Well...I started this when I was in FL and then moved states sooooo yeah hahaha. I finally picked this back up once I was settled in NC and I immediately got back into the story. I will say, I deducted .5 only because I feel like I've read similar stories in the past, but this book is still incredible and I'll be reading anything this author comes out with in the future.

This book had some serious pacing issues. You could almost skip the first ~45% and not really miss much. The author gives herself very little time for more interesting aspects of the story, such as any real

"cat and mouse" between the protagonist and the police

. The ending felt incredibly rushed, especially between the two different storylines.

I did think that there were some really clever cues to signal that the Carly storyline is in the past, such as dated references to technology (when is the last time a college student used corded headphones? etc).

Pacing issues aside, I was invested in the plot and still really love revenge stories. Decent read overall.

I'm not a big thriller reader, but I can always get behind a woman who murders bad men :)
Some fun twists and turns along the way! Queer! Minus a star for a slightly unrealistic resolution to the ending.

I mean yeah we want her to get away with it but it felt a little too HEA/neat lol
