Son of a biscuit! How did I not know this was a duet?! Crap!?! What do I do with my life now? I need the second half... stat!

Anyone who knows me knows that I run most days on baseball and books. What is unknown is I haven’t read many books that have baseball as a main contributor to the theme or plot. I know, you’d think I would eat them all up as quickly as I can. The problem is, I am always worried I will be let down. Trust me, I know my baseball! After reading Sweet Cheeks, this summer I knew I had to give this one a try. I am happy to say I was not disappointed! This was the absolute best way to help me celebrate the start of the MLB season.

Easton and Scout’s relationship in this first half was everything! It was hard, sexy, sad, hot, frustrating, and yes, satisfying! They both have the challenge of following in their fathers’ footsteps. Easton is the son of a baseball legend and Scout is the daughter of the best physical therapist in the league. When an opposing player causes him a career threatening injury, he might lose it all. Stuck on the DL (disabled list) for the foreseeable future, he must rely on Scout to help him get back to 100% and back on the active roster.

I couldn’t get enough of Scout and Easton’s relationship. Watching it progress was everything! Scout is such a strong female lead. I love how hard headed and determined she was throughout the story as different bumps were thrown in her path. Can she overcome the biggest bump? The true temptation that Easton is. As a god on the baseball field, Easton is used to things going his way and getting through things easily. He’s in for a rude awakening with Scout. What happens when their strong feelings and attractions come crashing together?

This story was so fun, passionate, powerful, and intense. Don’t miss out on this HOME RUN of a story!

Now take me out to the ballpark! I’m ready to watch some games live!

K. Bromberg has hit a GRAND SLAM with this duet!

When I ended the first half of this duet, I was upset and also a little worried that the end wouldn’t live up to the amazingness that was the beginning. I am so happy to announce that I was 100% not disappointed. This second half was just as, if not more, perfect than the first half. K. Bromberg has written a baseball love story in such a beautiful, entertaining, and emotional way. I couldn’t read it fast enough.

Easton and Scout’s relationship was even more in this second half than the first. It was everything and I am so jealous! It was hard, frustrating, satisfying, full of hurt, love, and happiness. They both struggle with following in their father’s footsteps and are reeling from quite the bomb from the end of the first book. I’m so glad I felt every emotion in this story: my heart broke, I laughed, but most importantly, I swooned.

K.’s way of writing this duet was so spectacular! She not only wrote a grab a bag of tissues but you still might need a cold shower kind of romance but she wrote a true baseball story. Things that any sports fan knows happens everyday were suddenly very relatable. Everything that Easton went through as a player was emotionally charged and I felt as if I was walking the road right along with him.

I completely love this duet and I truly think that even if you’re not a baseball fan, you’re just a fan of romance, read this duet!

I now have more faith in books that mix baseball with romance! HOME RUN!

P.S. My Colorado Rockies got a mention!!! I love K. a lot-a-bit because of that!

Cliffhanger

Lots of cheese.

I didn't think K Bromberg could write characters I love as much as Carlton & Riley but Scout & Easton come close!

I loved The Player apart from the last 5 chapters. I could sense what was going to happen and hoped I was wrong and then GAH!

Now I have to wait until The Catch is released in June while I toy with how the world I've lived in through the book can right itself.

3.5 Stars

I liked it and had fun reading it but didn't love it. In my opinion it's not as good as other K Bromberg books I've read.
I enjoyed the overall storyline, the smut scenes were hots and the characters interesting but for me it was a little too cheesy at times and I just didn't find myself as connected to the main characters as I want to be. That being said I am really excited to continue the duology and see what happens.

4 Stars

This was much better than the first book! I felt ALL the emotions and am so glad I read this duology now. Although I saw the twist coming a mile off, it still was brilliant and so much fun to read. Also it was still hot as hell! Can't wait to read even more by K Bromberg.

Clear mind hard heart

What the hell!!! I'm so happy I waited to the 2nd book to come out to start this one. With anything the Bromberg writes I'm reading it and this one doesn't disappoint. Easton and Scout are like fire steaming up these pages. Just when I was starting to get frustrated with Scouts back and for, she shifted and it couldn't happen any sweeter. I wasn't sure if I was going to like her at first with her getting so sidetracked with Easton around, but she end up warming up to me. I like that strong and smart, but I definitely like Easton better. He genuinally was a good guy and he was cool. I didn't mind his cocky comebacks and arrogant smirks. He was great and I truly enjoyed him from the jump. Bromberg is amazing and it's literary gold every time I start one of her books. Loved this first one and cannot wait to start the next.
