Some of these feel like a first draft of a Halsey song but without the music to give it structure. While she often has an ear for a turn of phrase or image, this collection falls mostly into redundant cycle of bad love choices without much elevation of the emotion. I wouldn't offer this to a poetry fan I was trying to get into Halsey. But a Halsey fan might enjoy.

I love Halsey's music. This book, though, was tough to get through. Her poetry isn't well-written, and to be honest, it was quite trashy at times. Every poem was introspective and most of them were about sexual misadventures. It quickly became tiresome.
