the book was not bad but at the same time it also was not enjoyable. i enjoyed reading about the characters again and once again being immersed into the shatter me whole but the book did not deliver that much. i feel like at this point the series is just being dragged out. like it could have ended after the first three books and i am happy it continued because i enjoyed all the books that came after but by now adding watch me to the list i feel like the time has come to give up and close the series, because after reading this book it's clear that there is a whole other sub series coming along. I mean watch me didn't even leave on a cliffhanger, in fact it didn't leave on anything except for the one fact that there is going to be another book coming out and that this series is not finished soooooo...... all i ask is why it's continuing. i feel that the perfectly fine and normal series is just being ruined. but back onto the book itself, i found nothing really interesting and thought that it was literally just normal and there was nothing that really caught my eye and made me be like, yes, i want to keep reading. i mean the book was not boring as such but there were no twists or turns either. like hoping onto a rollercoaster and receiving a joy ride. that's what watch me felt like. but i loved reading about kenji again because i low key forgot how much that guy make me laugh. so, to be honest kenji was the only thing that made watch me good. but at this point i think I'm mostly just sick of the repetitive boring tropes especially when they have no flare or add ons to be different for instance WATCH ME. like i'm honestly over the trope of they killed me, but they are so hot so oh well now i'm in love with them. like seriously common-sense people. i don't get it. but that's just my opinion and i'm not hating on the book i'm simply just saying that literally nothing happened, and the book was just one chapter after the next, and i was just there for kenji at that point. also, may i add that Julette and warner are not even the same people anymore. it's like they have had a whole character switch up and i don't like it because it feels like the old characters aren't even there to lean on anymore. but a solid 2.75. not bad but not an OMG what a great book either. i say the series should just stop. leave the shatter me world behind it's over. everything comes to an end eventually.

- Tropes/themes:
- Dual POV
- Enemies to lovers
- Forbidden romance
- Infiltration
- Identity
- Oppression
- War
- Moral ambiguity
- Great integration of the legacy cameos (characters from the original Shatter Me series)
- It started out really strong, but pretty much once they reached Sector 45, I lost a lot of interest- not a lot was really happening.
- The romance scenes (mostly just pining) were a little cringe to me and I just wanted to skip past them but luckily it didn’t feel like it was super heavily focused on that.
- It also feels weird to be reading from James’ POV as an adult lol.
- A decent read- not super great but not necessarily bad either.
- I dont think I’ll give up on this spin-off series; I’m hoping it was just more of a solid set up for the series and that we’ll get more from future books.
- Ends on a cliffhanger.
