This was such a great introduction to Greek mythology. This book explained multiple aspects of mythology such as the gods, goddesses, monsters, heroes, history of Greece, important symbols and objects in Greek myths. The illustrations were amazing and the cover of this book is stunning! Definitely a book I would like to own.

This book works as a basic introduction to Greek mythology or a quick reference guide to refresh your memory. It also provides some background on the way these myths were delivered and Ancient Greek culture. As the book is published for younger readers the writing style is kept simple and to the point. Unfortunately, this also means that the viler parts (rape, violence) are glossed over and that there is no critical analysis on the treatment of women or other issues. I know, that's not what the book was aiming to do, but I still wish it had been more critical (because I know the author, beloved booktuber Jean Bookishthoughts, usually is).

The book is lavishly illustrated by Katie Ponder who uses simple shapes and textures to mimic the Greek art style. I especially loved her use of colors and the coffee table format made every page a joy to look at. I could've done without the captions added to most images though, as they only repeated what was already said in the (not very long) text passages.

I wanted to start a bit of a random journey into reading more nonfiction Greek Mythology books and this was a wonderful starting point. The stories were simple and laid out very clearly with great illustrations. Had to take away a few marks for the queer erasure of Apollo and his "good friend" Hyacinthus though.

This was a decent primer on the titans and the Olympians. This was a good start to learning about Greek mythology for children and laypeople alike, without passing judgment or commentary on the inherent sexism and gender role expectations.

Gorgeously illustrated, the images were as enticing as the text itself.

This book gave a good basic overview and I would recommend it to beginners interested in mythology. I can't help but wonder if the five star reviews written by the author's friends should include a disclaimer in their review and whether they are unduly inflating the star rating for this book. For someone wanting more in depth coverage, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
