This is a bit slow but full of lots of great world building. So glad that there is a follow on because the story really gets moving well into the book and there is lots still to unpack. Hoping we get more dragons in the next one as well!

Typical plot device "let's introduce a female best friend and then kill her the very next chapter". Of course she is then forgotten about for the rest of the book (: 

They establish her as an badass assassin only to make her docile living of the nature, bathing naked in creaks. Like I WANTED the animalistic crazy assassin that brutally killed the soldiers by the wall in the beginning of the book not just her constantly repeating she should just take a wild Moltenmaw and leave (but clearly unwilling to do so because the male love interest she has forgotten).

Wouldn't recommend this one, but I'm glad I read it as the dragons in the book where very interesting.

I loved this book, was perfect way to get lost in another world. Lots of world building with a good balance of story. 
I read the last 2 thirds of the book in one day, I was reading as I did everything - could hardly put it down. 
I am looking forward to book 2!
