There were so many emotions running through. I really felt for Clara as she was getting hit with so much at a vulnerable age, but I feel she was leaning a bit too hard into the teenage angst. As bad as I felt for her, it was even worse for Morgan. She got the worst end of the stick here all around. The betrayal against her was layered. I found myself being a lot more invested in the Morgan chapters and
I wish she works have read those letters.

A tangled mix of grief, secrets, and messy family drama.
I liked it, but I really wish we got everyone’s point of view and that the letters weren’t destroyed. There isn’t much I can say without giving away too much, but overall it was an okay read.

It's been awhile since I've read a CoHo book so decided to knock this one off of my TBR. In true CoHo fashion it breaks your heart then puts it back together. The chapters alternate between mother and daughter. The miscommunication is the whole point of the book but it's one of those tropes that drives me a little nuts. I didn't love the narrators but still enjoyed the book.
