I’m reminded too much of Vonnegut. I miss stuff like this. Intersections of art and culture. Slightly meta, pretentiously philosophical. Aiming to grab at the grand gestures of life, gesticulating, making sense of it all. For a story so simple, one we’ve heard of before, man and woman but they both have interests greater than their own moralities and mortalities, trying to be together. Is it possible? And by what grace? Whose grace?

This tickled my brain in all the right areas and exactly what I missed about literature. It’s pure magic. For a book that has been in my eyesight for the past 20 years in all the libraries and book shops I’ve ever frequented all around the world, I’m happy that I’ve finally gotten to it. Playful. Amusing. A little song whose infectious hook stays, stings, and leaves breathing room for your brain.
