By far the best and most enjoyably engaging book in the series thus far. Pendergast finally takes center stage and gets a bit more depth outside of just being a collection of quirks.

I liked the mystery a lot while it was progressing but didn't like how it ended.

I finished the book and I’m still wondering why I bothered. The story was too gruesome (unnecessarily so, in my opinion) and too ridiculous. The killer was too unbelievable.
