Kansas cornfields just got scarier in Still Life with Crows. Special Agent Pendergast shows up to investigate a series of grisly murders and, as usual, even stranger things begin to occur. This book introduces my favorite character of the series, an abused teen whose life will never be the same.

This is definitely my most favorite of the series (so far)! The environment was so perfectly creepy! Best of all, the story was believable and grounded to reality. This is a book that gave me actual chills in a very long long time. Just loved it.

DID NOT FINISH: 14%

Didn’t care for the vulgarity.

Not as good as the first three. Some creature murdering people and dogs. The end was tragic, and I still love Pendergast. It just moved too slow, and my mind kept wandering. Scott Brick did an ok job with the reading.
dark mysterious tense fast-paced

I loved this book! So far this is my favorite in the Pendergast series. There were just a couple of spots that I thought were a bit slow, but just as I started to think that, boom, it picked right up. I sat up until a little after 2:30 in the morning finishing the last third of the book. There was no way I was going to put the book down and go to bed; I had to finish it! The ending did not disappoint ... creepy!
