This was hilarious! OK, not all the stories entirely clicked with me (there were like 1 or 2 that just I liked but not that much), but I had such a good time reading it. Pratchett wrote some great stories! I loved how many of them centred around one town which sounds like an interesting place to live given how all sorts of events are happening in and around it. My favourite definitely would be the one with the dinosaurs and time travel, I just wanted to hop into that story and be part of it all.
I also love that despite these being a lot of his earlier works you still 100% feel the Pratchett in them. I was at first a bit worried that maybe it wouldn't work, would it have the spark/the magic of Pratchett? But then I read one story, and another, and I knew I would love this book. It is his humour. His magic. Lord, I miss him and his books/stories. I would HIGHLY recommend this book to all!

An ephemeral collection of early stories from Terry Pratchett. A very pleasurable read overall, but not his best, for obvious reasons.

A collection of Terry's old work, all short stories for periodicals, written under various pseudonyms, before he hit the big-time. It's very un-polished as you would expect. I'm guessing he wrote most of this as a teenager. That's certainly how it reads, short stories written by a young man who read LOTR & Conan, & watched Dr. Who. It's a lot like the kind of thing young men make now as animatics on YouTube, silly & fun little homages to the things they find inspiring. This is not Terrys best work, but it is very inspiring to the rest of us to know that Terry started small, & stumbling, & took a long time to hone his craft.

Interesting, amusing and easy to read short stories.
As a Pratchett fan I enjoyed some of the ideas and themes that are expanded on in later discworld novels.
